MEET
MELISSA MARKS

I am a Mindfulness Coach, Licensed Professional Counselor, Certified Yoga & Meditation Teacher, Speaker and Podcast Host.

I started practicing Mindfulness over 20 years ago at the age of 24. At that time, you could have described me as the following: perfectionistic, overly self-critical, highly driven, on the verge of burn out.

Today I am not that same person, but I understand those same tendencies. My mindfulness practice has been the driving force in totally transforming my life. It has been the cornerstone for taking tremendous, calculated risks and reaping extraordinary rewards. If I did not get quiet and still first and then go through a specific mental and emotional process, none of that would have ever happened. That I know for sure. Each year I push myself out of my comfort zone and reach (and oftentimes surpass) my goals--both personally and professionally. I am in charge of my own destiny and live from a distinctly different way of being and doing.  I get to wake up every day living and doing what I love. I practice the following regularly: self-compassion, self-awareness, intention setting WITH internal alignment, and self-care.

 

Who I Work With

I work with clients of all backgrounds. I’ve helped lawyers, accountants, CEOs, and professional athletes—along with survivors of many types of trauma. If you are hungry to get to your next level (whatever that is to you) I want to help you get there.

I help clients get results. If you have a goal it is important to you that you achieve it. I have spent years studying why some people achieve their goals and others not. I know the precise techniques to guide you to living your best life and helping you live consistently at this high level, even after tremendous set-backs.

My Coaching Style

I am warm and compassionate but will also gently challenge you as appropriate. I listen very closely for inconsistencies and issues related to alignment. I provide you with the latest research in the field of Mindfulness and Neuroscience. I explain why things work. I give precise feedback, which can also include customized guided meditations to help you integrate your new learning. It matters to me that you are happy and successful. I smile and laugh, and most everyone I work with does too. Even though we are serious about results we have fun along the way.
